During my undergraduate education in Architecture, I found that I enjoyed the technical and computational aspects of my courses. This led me to choose to pursue further education in the technological aspects of my interests through Graduate school.
In addition to enjoying learning new technologies, I enjoy helping others learn about technology and what they can do with it. Throughout my Graduate Education, I have worked part-time for the IT Service Desk at UNCC. This position has allowed me to gain valuable experience in helping others with technology, as well as allowing me to gain insight into the ways that technology systems are used at the university.
After graduation, my work in BIM detailing has taught me much about the use of technology in the construction and design world. I enjoy figuring out new methods to do things in the most efficient manner using technology and learning about how we can do things in the most efficient and effective way possible.
There’s a saying I’ve always loved: “Choose a job you love, and you will never have to work a day in your life.” I realize that’s not an altogether practical goal, but one day I hope to have a job that I love, and in the meantime, I continue working towards that goal, even if some of the path to get there is work.
On a personal note, my hobbies include hanging out with my friends and family, knitting, reading, and playing video games when I can find spare time. Much of my free time is spent playing with my cat, Triscuit, and attempting to interest her in toys other than the pictures on my wall or the objects on my desk.
